Hello Friends,
I am so sad to hear of B.B. King’s passing. He is my hero and someone who has inspired me as both a musician and a person. His humility and grace is unmatched. I have met a lot of people on the blues highway but no one more gracious and loving than B.B. You can hear and feel that love in his music. Lucille’s sweet vibrato comes from a beautiful place deep down in B.B.’s soul. So deep that it resonates with all of us. All B.B. King ever needs is one note to connect with mankind. And, that my friends, is a testament to the man and his music. A master beyond compare.
When I was in college I would go to a blues jam at a bar in Toronto called Chicago’s on Queen Street. It was a tiny little place frequented by all sorts of characters. They would give me a beer to play a couple of songs. Sometimes, if it was really cooking they’d let me stay up longer and give me two. ○ 1925-2015 B.B. King meurt à 89 ans, témoignages.
La légende est entrée dans la légende, B.B. King s’est éteint à l’âge de 89 ans. Souffrant de complications du diabète, le célèbre bluesman avait fait un séjour à l’hôpital en avril. Il a envoyé un message à ses fans le 1er mai disant qu’il bénéficiait de soins à domicile et les remerciant de leurs souhaits et de leurs prières.
Plusieurs avaient remarqué son état d’affaiblissement lors de ses derniers concerts. Souhaitons que la fin de sa carrière aura été selon ses désirs. Repose en paix Riley B King.

Night after night BB told us stories of you, and how you were always there through thick and thin. He said you were loving and loyal and never talked back… that you even saved his life. Then night after night we would hear YOU sing, for BB, and also for us… and HOW you sang!!!…. so beautifully, so clear, and with so much soul. When I think of all the audiences you’ve been held in front of, all the lights you’ve shined under, and all of hearts you’ve filed with hope and happiness, I am overwhelmed with awe and inspiration. Thank you for giving my mentor’s hands a place to rest, a place to play, and a place to call home. We will always love you Lucille. Thank you for taking care of our friend, of whom we will miss….. so very, very much. God Bless You. RIP, BB KING.

BB King was the greatest guy I ever met. The tone he got out of that guitar, the way he shook his left wrist, the way he squeezed the strings… man, he came out with that and it was all new to the whole guitar playin’ world. He could play so smooth, he didn’t have to put on a show. The way BB did it is the way we all do it now. He was my best friend and father to us all.
I’ll miss you, B. I love you and I promise I will keep these damn Blues alive. Rest well.

réaction de Michel Rochette: Autant il a fait progresser le blues depuis des décennies par son jeu, son charisme… autant j’espère que sa mort fera en sorte que l’industrie de la musique et TOUS ses intervenants auront un regard différent et surtout plus d’intérêt pour le blues et le faire passer à une vitesse supérieure. Tout à coup, le blues est intéressant ce matin…alors faites en sorte que ça le demeure!
